Gaupol is an editor for text-based subtitle files. It supports multiple subtitle file formats and provides means of creating subtitles, editing texts and timing subtitles to match video. The user interface is designed with attention to batch processing of multiple documents and convenience of translating.
Gaupol should run on all Unix-like (GNU/Linux, *BSD, etc.) operating systems and on Windows. Technically, it should run on Mac as well, but that has not been tested nor made convenient. Gaupol's user interface is based on the GTK+ toolkit and has been designed to best fit the GNOME desktop environment.
Gaupol includes a separately installable, user-interface-independent, general-purpose Python package called aeidon for reading, writing and manipulating text-based subtitle files. See the development page for details.
Gaupol is free software released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

This is a demo application built by my team at Adobe using content provided to us by National Geographic. It's implemented entirely with web technologies.
Wielding the tools from CSS and browser layout can enable stunning visualizations for web content. Using web features like CSS filters, WebGL, HTML5 video, SVG, canvas and evolving future tech like CSS Regions, CSS Shapes and CSS Custom Filters promises a hugely expanded creative landscape. Adobe has had a long history of working with content creators who are passionate about layout and design, and so has been active in applying this knowledge to the web with contributions to many evolving web standards.
With the help of National Geographic, we used content from their feature titled ‘Forest Giant’ to build a prototype showcasing how these features can enable rich web layout and responsive techniques. This article will show how we built some particularly interesting characteristics of the site. For a concise overview it’s worth watching this video below where Christian Cantrell walks you through the various features of the site.

Here is greeting from the maker... Dear Internets! My name is Simon and I am the director/producer of the film TPB AFK: The Pirate Bay Away From Keyboard. After 5 years of hard work, it's a great pleasure to finally upload a torrent about this great website onto the site itself. In a way, I guess TPB AFK has finally come home. This is not just a film about the founders of TPB, but also a film about all of you who use the site.

Here at the agency we have a version of our TV reel on DVD that I created, categorized by budget. We've found it helpful on a few occasions to give clients an idea of what we can do for a given amount of money. Recently, I was asked to put this version of the reel online, so people could view it that way instead, which was a good idea. You can check it out here for reference.
This was meant to be done in a day or two and there were too many spots to hard-code, so I started looking around for pre-fab YouTube galleries (all of these spots are on YouTube). There seems to be a few really huge, elaborate ones, and one or two really simple ones. What I wanted was something in between because I needed to be able to horse around with it and get it to do a couple things the way I wanted.
So, I mashed together two separate things I found: the PHP Simple YouTube Gallery found at Webarto.com to generate the thumbnails and create links, and Fancybox to create a lightbox effect. With some further modification to allow captions and to use the new YouTube embed style, it does exactly what I need.
